Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab carried a joint operation in the hilly area of Makarwal in the Mianwali district in which 10 terrorists were killed, a spokesperson for the CTD said on Thursday night.
It was stated that the operation was conducted on the information about the presence of 10 to 15 terrorists.
A heavy exchange of fire took place between CTD Punjab and the terrorists, "Ten Kharji terrorists were killed in the firing from their own colleague," the spokesperson said.
"All officers and men of the CTD and the Elite police remained safe in the firing," he said.
"A search continued in the area, while efforts were afoot to identify the deceased terrorists," he added. Punjab police chief congratulated the Mianwali police on the successful operation against terrorists.
