Punjab road crashes claim 16 lives

1,638 injured in 1,467 RTCs across Punjab

At least 16 people died, whereas 1,638 were injured in 1,467 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 739 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 899 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. The majority (77%) involved motorbikes.

Furthermore, the analysis showed those 846 drivers, 69 underage drivers, 181 pedestrians, and 627 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 287 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 331 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by Faisalabad 100 in with 97 victims and at third Multan with 79 RTCs and 88 victims.

The details further reveal that 1654 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 1262 males & 392 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 299 were under 18 years of age, 897 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 458 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
