PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has reiterated his commitment to eradicating polio virus from the province and appealed to the public to ensure that their children receive anti-polio drops to protect them from lifelong disability.

"Complete eradication of polio virus from the province is a shared goal and responsibility, and all the stakeholders should have to play their part in this regard," he said, adding that that boycotting polio eradication campaigns "will only harm our own children". He expressed these views as the chief guest at an event held here on Thursday to mark World Polio Day.

Chief Minister lauded the efforts of all stakeholders involved in running polio campaigns under difficult circumstances, saying that conducting these campaigns in such challenging conditions is nothing short of a form of jihad.
