Sarah Danser, a well-known boat captain and survivalist who appeared on Discovery Channel’s ‘Naked and Afraid,’ has tragically passed away following a car crash in Kahala, Hawaii.

The crash occurred on Diamond Head Road on Sunday, October 20th. Danser, 34, originally from Castle Rock, Colorado, had lived in Hawaii for 12 years, where she was celebrated for her adventurous spirit and survival skills.

The accident involved two vehicles, and Danser was a passenger in a car driven by a 59-year-old friend. The driver lost control and collided with a parked vehicle. Danser, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Her friend, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was also hospitalized in serious condition. A woman in the parked car was injured, while a male passenger refused treatment. Honolulu police stated that speed was likely a factor in the crash, although neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.

After spending two days in the hospital, Danser passed away on Tuesday, surrounded by her father and brother. “I saw the incredible impact she had on others’ lives,” said her father, Dan Danser. Her brother, Jake, added, “Sarah had a magical energy that filled any space she was in.”

Danser appeared in the season 8 episode of ‘Naked and Afraid’ titled ‘Lost at Sea’ in 2017, alongside former Navy SEAL Ben Johnson.

A breast cancer survivor, Danser was a master diver and boat captain, known for her global adventures and work at Island Divers Hawaii. Tim Mason, a close friend and fellow diver, shared, “She was incredibly smart and resourceful. She always knew how to survive.” An ocean memorial is being planned in her honor.
