Security plan devised for Pak-Eng test match

RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi police have implemented strict security measures for the third and final Test match between Pakistan and England, which is set to begin today (Thursday) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The stadium, its surroundings, and the route have been divided into four security zones and over 4,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed to ensure security. Police have also closed nearby business centres and food streets along Stadium Road and Double Road for general traffic during the match.

The security team includes four superintendents of police (SPs), 12 assistant/deputy superintendents (ASPs/DSPs), 41 inspectors and SHOs, 403 upper superintendents, and 1,141 constables. Additional support will come from over 600 officers from the elite force, 130 female police personnel, and 10 teams from the Dolphin Force. Reserves from the district police and Punjab constabulary have also been called in.

Three separate routes have been assigned for team movement, each with its security setup. Snipers and expert shooters from the Elite Force will be stationed on high-rise buildings around the stadium and routes. All streets leading from Faizabad to the stadium will be sealed during team movements, with a "zero traffic" policy for the teams' convoy. Metro bus services will be temporarily suspended during these movements.
