Pakistan, Turkiye pledge stronger ties at Istanbul Expo meeting

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Turkiye's Defense Minister, Yasar Guler, in Istanbul on Wednesday during his visit to the International Expo.

The meeting underscored the mutual commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation across various sectors.

Minister Yasar Guler expressed his appreciation for Mohsin Naqvi's participation in the expo, noting that such events play a vital role in enhancing global partnerships. In return,Mohsin Naqvi extended an official invitation to Yasar Guler for the Ideas Expo in Pakistan, which will showcase innovation in the region.

The ministers discussed mutual interests, focusing on the importance of increasing trade and cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye. Both sides acknowledged the positive trajectory of their relationship and emphasized the need to explore new areas of collaboration.

A prominent point of discussion was the potential to boost Pakistan's meat exports to Turkiye. The Turkish government assured its support for facilitating these exports, showing interest in enhancing trade ties.Mohsin Naqvi welcomed this, highlighting agriculture's significance in the broader economic relationship.

Mohsin Naqvi also stressed the importance of regular high-level visits to ensure lasting cooperation. He remarked, "Establishing a robust foundation for bilateral cooperation requires continuous dialogue and interaction."

Mohsin Naqvi praised the Turkish government for the excellent organization of the International Expo, which serves as a platform for nations to showcase their progress and innovation.

Senior officials from both sides, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye, Dr. Yusuf Jind, attended the meeting, underscoring the high-level nature of the discussions. The visit is seen as a significant step toward strengthening the strategic and economic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.

PAF leads multinational air exercises with key allies

The Pakistan Air Force is conducting significant multinational air exercises, dubbed Indus Shield 2024, alongside its key allies, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. These exercises aim to strengthen strategic military partnerships and enhance collective operational capabilities.

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir is expected to observe the exercises, where he will be briefed on the scope and objectives of the operations. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to reinforce military cooperation and improve readiness for addressing shared security challenges in the region.
