The incident occurred when a man, allegedly with Jessi, attacked a teenage fan who approached her for a selfie on September 29, 2024, in Gangnam, Seoul. Jessi claimed that she had just met the man that night and tried to stop the assault. Despite her efforts, she has been criticized as a bystander.
On October 23, 2024, Jessi posted a disturbing comment she received on Instagram, reading, “The best news would be that she committed suic!de by taking medicines." In response, she urged anti-fans to stop, writing, “Please Stop.” Her fans rallied to her defense, with many supporting her and condemning the hateful threats.
In response to the incident, Jessi apologized and vowed to assist in locating the perpetrator. However, the controversy resurfaced when another alleged victim claimed she was assaulted by Jessi and her entourage in 2013, complicating the matter further.
