Students of private college accused of vandalism

Several families and ambulances were stuck in traffic for a long time due to the students' protest

The Madina Town police registered a case against 60 students including seven nominated students of the local college who vandalised and damaged the building during a protest outside the college and conducted raids to arrest them. When the student could not be arrested, the police detained their relatives.

Police said report, sub-inspector Mohammad Atif Shahzad, posted at Madina Town police station, took a stand in the case filed that he was on special duty law and order in a private college located on the Tezab Mill Road, Jaranwala Road, that during this time, Abdul Rehman Abbas, Abdul Hadi, Abdul Wakil Butt, Abdullah Gujar, Abdul Rehman Maqsood, Danish Kamuka and Shahzeb Gujar along with their group leader Zaid son of Azhar Mehmood wearing local college uniforms, came in the form of rally and chanted slogans against the government and administration of the private college, pelted stones and blocked the road.

He further stated that he tried to negotiate but they did not comply. Reportedly, on the instigation of their group leader Zaid, all the students got angry and attacked the private college Tezab Mill Chowk and vandalized the building and equipment of the college before escaping.

Several families and ambulances were stuck in traffic for a long time due to the students' protest. Madina Town Police registered a case under the provisions of 341-457-188-290-291 TP and started raids to arrest them.

The police party led by SHO Medina Town, Sub-Inspector Shahid Pannu and In-charge Chowki Mujahid Hospital, Rana Najamul Hasan, raided the houses of the named accused late at night, but when the students could not be found, the police detained their relatives and started investigation.
