The toxicology report on the late singer Mohbad, conducted in the United States, has been finalized, according to the Lagos State government. Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro SAN, revealed the update on Monday, October 21, 2024, during a press conference at the Ministry of Justice Conference Room in Ikeja. The conference was held to commemorate his first year in office.
Pedro addressed the delays in the investigation, explaining that they were due to the time needed for forensic analysis and toxicology. "On the Mohbad case, I agree there has been a delay, and the delay is caused by time taken for investigation," Pedro stated. He confirmed that the findings from the U.S. have been handed over to the Lagos State Pathologist and the Coroner magistrate.
While the government is ready to proceed with the trial to uncover the circumstances behind Mohbad's death, Pedro mentioned that the family has requested to conduct their independent autopsy. "Despite this, the trial will soon commence, and the court will do justice in the matter," he assured.
