Judicial Magistrate Malir acquitted Haleem Adil Sheikh, Khurram Sher Zaman and Aftab Siddiqui in the case of rioting on the occasion of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi's court appearance in Malir.
In front of the court of Judicial Magistrate No. 11 in Karachi Malir Court, a hearing was held on the acquittal plea of Haleem Adil Sheikh and others in the Malir Court.
The defence counsel, Khalid Mehmood Advocate, stated that at the time the case was registered, Haleem Adil Sheikh was out of the country for Umrah. Haleem's name was included in the case on political malice. The police did not present any evidence against Haleem in the case.
The court accepted the acquittal pleas of the PTI leaders and acquitted Haleem Adil Sheikh, Khurram Sher Zaman and Aftab Siddiqui.
Dr Alvi's clinic
Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court reserved its decision on the petition against the sealing of the clinic of former president of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi after the arguments of the lawyers were completed.
During the hearing, held on the petition against sealing the clinic of former President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi. The court sought the response from the counsel of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) on what illegal constructions have been done there.
The SBCA cousel submitted that there was a series of commercial activities going on at this location which led to the action. Many changes were made regarding the construction of the building by Dr. Alvi.
The court asked under which law the action was taken against such constructions.
The counsel for SBCA submitted that the building was constructed in 1991, after which it was altered in 2002. In the approval plan of this plot, it is not mentioned anywhere that a clinic is being built at this place.
While constructing any building, approval has to be taken regarding what is being constructed here and for what purpose it is being constructed.
