A woman in China, following a fight with her husband, left her two young children on the air conditioner outside their 23rd-floor apartment.

According to local media reports, neighbors in Luoyang, Henan Province, heard the children's cries and recorded the incident on video.

The children, sitting outside the 23rd-floor flat, were not wearing any safety gear, while their mother prevented their father from approaching them in anger.

The daughter was crying out of fear, while her brother remained silent. The reason for the couple's fight is unclear.

Nearby residents alerted the police about the incident.

"The firefighting team arrived and rescued the children," stated an official from the local Women and Children’s Federation, noting that they are investigating the matter.

The police have initiated an investigation, although it remains unknown whether the mother will face any penalties.

The video of the incident has been viewed 55 million times on Weibo.

Earlier this month, a father in southwestern China was arrested for whipping his two young sons with an electric wire after they drew on the neighbors' cars.

Doctors who examined the boys reported that they sustained multiple bruises and soft tissue injuries from the beating.
