Big Meech, the founder of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), was recently released from prison after serving nearly 20 years behind bars.

Following his release, Meech, whose real name is Demetrius Flenory, was moved to a halfway house where he will remain until 2026. Afterward, he will begin five years of supervised release. Social media has been buzzing with updates, including a new photo of Meech looking healthy and in good spirits.

TMZ reports that as part of his release, Meech must participate in a substance abuse program and may also undergo regular drug and alcohol testing. Fans are eagerly waiting for a statement from Meech, but so far, his lawyer Brittany K. Barnett has shared her joy at his release. Speaking to Hot 97, Barnett said, “I’m overjoyed that Demetrius Flenory is finally free… He used his time in prison for personal growth and transformation.”

Barnett also highlighted the ongoing need for justice reform, saying there is still much work to be done to free others who remain incarcerated under similar circumstances.
