The decision came during a party's political committee meeting, attended by key leaders on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD:

The PTI has announced a nationwide protest on Oct 18 at the district level, urging its supporters to gather in their respective areas.

The decision came during a party's political committee meeting, attended by key leaders on Wednesday.

In a statement, the committee expressed its firm resolve to resist the government's plans to amend the constitution.

A call for widespread protests against constitutional amendments and the imprisonment of founding chairman Imran Khan was issued for Friday (tomorrow).

The statement condemned the mistreatment of Imran Khan, currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, and demanded the immediate restoration of his fundamental rights, as well as access for his family, lawyers, and party leaders.

According to the announcement, all regional and local organisations are instructed to conduct vigorous yet peaceful protests at district headquarters after Friday prayers.

The committee called for a united front against any governmental attempts to distort the constitution through amendments.

The statement also appealed to all sections of society that believe in the supremacy of the constitution to participate peacefully in the protests.

The meeting unanimously agreed to take all possible measures to block any amendments in both houses of Parliament.

The political committee also demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan's sisters, Aleema Khan and Azma Khan, along with the release of all detained leaders, workers, and parliament members.
