Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid has expressed strong criticism of a proposed constitutional amendment, stating that it is being introduced due to a Supreme Court ruling regarding reserved seats and will cause significant harm to the country.
Speaking to the media during her appearance at the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court, Dr. Yasmin remarked, "This amendment will destroy the judiciary and end justice in the country."
She further suggested that the actions of the government were prompted by a decision from Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
Dr. Yasmin called the current government a 'puppet regime,' claiming, "These people want to eliminate justice in Pakistan, and their actions are evident to the public."
She referenced the November 2022 attack on former Prime Minister Imran Khan, stating, "Imran Khan's life could be at risk in jail, and if there is no contact with him, it raises suspicion."
She further claimed that 'violence against women was increasing due to the government's incompetence.'
"The police that should be preventing crimes are now pursuing us," she said.
Dr. Yasmin emphasised the importance of respecting foreign guests, stating, "We should focus on creating a separate bloc of Asian countries and establishing an alternative institution to the IMF."
In conclusion, she shared her personal experience, saying, "I have been in jail for 17 months, yet the prosecution has no evidence against me, and my bail is still denied."
She also mentioned being implicated in cases across various cities, feeling as though she is "some sort of superhero" who is present everywhere at once.
