The inspector general of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) police Rana Abdul Jabbar has inaugurated a 'Police Khidmat Markaz' to provide a variety of essential services under one roof to the residents of Dadyal, a town known for its large population of dual nationals.

The project was brought to life through the initiative of the AJK police department on a self-help basis. Dadyal Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ansar Ali and Station House Officer (SHO) Rashid Habib Masoodi spearheaded the initiative and garnered the support of local dignitaries for its successful completion.

Acknowledging the efforts of DSP Ali, SHO Masoodi and their team; IGP Jabbar said that their commitment to the initiative would go a long way in benefitting the local community.

He also expressed his appreciation to the donors who provided financial support for the initiative, noting that the involvement of such individuals in collective welfare efforts made them invaluable assets to society.

According to SHO Masoodi, prior to the establishment of the Khidmat Markaz, residents of Dadyal had to travel 70 kilometres to reach Mirpur for availing the services of the police department.

"Opening of Khidmat Markaz in their own town will save them both the time and resources," he said.

On the occasion, IGP Jabbar also distributed shields to the dignitaries and police officers for their role in emergence of Khidmat Markaz.
