LAHORE:

The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has launched a guided tour of the Lahore Fort in which the 'hidden spaces' of the premises will be shown to tourists.

According to WCLA sources, the monthly guided tour will cover places inside the fort like Arzgah, Kala Burj, Akbari Gate, Akbari Hammam, Kha-rak Singh Haveli with rooftop views, Akbari Mahal, Sheesh Mahal attic rooms, Ranjeet Singh's last living room, British Barracks or jails and Mughal era water channels.

A mysterious grave in the basement, torture cells near the Royal Kitch-ens, Zanana Masjid, Naag Temple, Summer Palace and Daulat Khana Khas-o-Aam have also been opened to the public for the first time for the tour.

Spaces like the Arzgah, torture cells, Daulat Khana Khaas-o-Aam and rooftop rooms of Sheesh Mahal had been closed for many years and needed restoration.
