KARACHI:

In a brazen act of violence, armed suspects wearing Sindh police Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) uniforms and riding in a car with police number plate kidnapped a man and his son, robbing them of valuables and leaving them severely injured.

Police said that a person was found injured in the firing in Razzaqabad Dhani Partu Goth area of Shah Latif police station. He was identified as 27-year-old Masamir. SHO Shah Latif Mumtaz Marwat said the injured person and his father were abducted by unknown suspects from Shah Faisal Colony Bridge.

Masamir in his statement to the police said that the accused were riding in a white car with police number plate. The accused identified themselves as CTD officials. The abductors kept asking the father and son for their account details while roaming in the streets. After torturing victim's father, the kidnappers threw him at Landhi Murtaza Chowrangi, while the accused pushed Masamir out of the car near Razzaqabad and opened fire on him. After which, they escaped. SHO Shah Latif says the alleged kidnappers fired many shots at the victim before fleeing.
