Pakistani startups showcase innovation at Gitex global 2024

The event showcases Pakistan's tech potential to the world.

The Gitex Global 2024, the largest international technology and startup fair, commenced today in Dubai.

This significant event showcases Pakistan’s information and communication technology (ICT) and startup ecosystem to the global audience.

Running alongside Gitex Global is the North Star Startup Show, featuring ten startups and incubators from Pakistan.

These startups are receiving strong responses from the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.

Overall, 80 Pakistani companies and startups are participating in this tech event.

Participants are optimistic that their robust presence at Gitex Global will enhance IT exports from Pakistan to the Middle East and the MENA region, while also attracting investment for startups and fostering partnerships with major IT firms in the area.

Under the federal Ministry of IT and Telecommunications, ten Pakistani startups are participating in the Ignite programme at Gitex 2024.

These startups are involved in sectors such as healthcare, aerospace, energy, gaming, travel technology, and smart cities.

They will present their innovative solutions to global investors, potential partners, and technology enthusiasts.

Adil Ejaz Shah, CEO of Ignite, described the Gitex Global participation as a tremendous opportunity for Pakistan's IT industry and startups.

He stated that the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Pakistani startups would help attract global investment and accelerate growth through partnerships.

Pakistan's Recognition at GITEX Global 2024

Earlier this month, Pakistan was honoured as the 'Tech Destination of the Year' at GITEX Global 2024, held from October 14 to 18, 2024.

The country had previously participated in the event under the Pakistan Pavilion, which was represented by the Pakistan Software Export Board.

This recognition underscored the growing prominence of Pakistan in the global technology landscape.

GITEX Global, recognised as one of the world's largest and most influential technology exhibitions, took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Harbour. The event featured over 40 halls, showcasing significant advancements in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, mobility, and sustainable technology.

During the event, numerous tech giants, startups, investors, and industry leaders gathered to unveil innovations, explore future trends, and foster collaboration across various sectors.

The participation from around the globe highlighted the dynamic nature of the technology industry and the importance of international partnerships.

With IT and IT-enabled services companies exporting to 170 countries, Pakistan demonstrated a robust value proposition, offering services at operational costs up to 70% lower than those in North America.

The recognition as the 'Tech Destination of the Year' served to further elevate Pakistan's profile as an emerging hub for technology and innovation.
