'Sardar Saleem Haider Khan should relax in the Governor's House, enjoying tea, coffee, and dry fruits'

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari criticized Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, claiming that he has begun taking actions similar to those of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In her statement, the Punjab information minister remarked that it is unfortunate to have to remind the governor that his role is ceremonial, and he has no involvement in administrative matters.

The provincial minister suggested that he should relax in the Governor's House, enjoying tea, coffee, and dry fruits, while leaving governance and the management of provincial affairs to Maryam Nawaz, who is well-versed in handling such responsibilities.

Azma Bokhari highlighted the dire state of education in Sindh, stating that schools are virtually non-existent in many areas, and those that do exist are often used to house animals.

She pointed out that exam malpractice is rampant, with entire exam centres being sold off, and that the education system in Sindh, where the government has been in power for 16 years, still operates as if it were in the 19th century.

She added that news of ghost employees and students within Sindh's education department regularly appears in the media. In contrast, seven districts of Punjab continue to lead in literacy rates.

Apart from two areas in Karachi and Hyderabad, the literacy rate in the rest of Sindh remains alarmingly low.

Azma also noted the improvement in Punjab’s education standards, where government school students are securing top positions in board exams.

Students are being provided with laptops, scholarships, and scooters. She further mentioned the recent MDCAT exam issues in Sindh, which became a topic of national concern.
