Exchange of fire between Kurram tribes claims 11 lives, injures several others

Firing incidents took place in Parachinar area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province's Upper Kurram division.

At least 11 people were killed and eitght others were injured in two firing incidents that took placed in the Parachinar area of Khyner-Pakhtunkhwa province's Upper Kurram district.

The first incident occurred in the hilly area of Kanj Ali Zai, where hunters from Shank were shot at by rival tribes, resulting in 11 fatalities and injuries to five others, including a woman, according to Express News reports.

The firing took place in the mountains and on a nearby road, and due to the critical condition of some of the injured, the death toll is expected to rise.

Following the incident, a heavy contingent of local police and security forces arrived at the scene to collect evidence and statements, initiating an investigation.

The second firing incident occurred near a bypass, where unknown assailants shot at vehicles heading toward Maqbal, and the injured were transported to the DHQ Parachinar Hospital for medical assistance.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search for the assailants.
