Ty Dolla Sign defends Diddy: 'Don't say no Diddy 'round me, that's my dog'

Ty Dolla Sign has sparked controversy after a leaked demo of his song "FRIED," from 'VULTURES 2', surfaced on October 11. 

In the track, the R&B singer takes a bold stance by defending the disgraced mogul Diddy, who is currently facing federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. 

In the unreleased verse, Ty Dolla sings, "Don't say no Diddy 'round me, that's my dog," a surprising declaration given Diddy's current legal battles and plummeting public opinion.

Diddy, once an untouchable figure in the music industry, is now behind bars, awaiting trial on charges that could see him sentenced to 15 years to life. 

Despite this, Ty Dolla’s unwavering support for the Bad Boy founder has raised eyebrows. His decision to stand by Diddy comes at a time when many are distancing themselves from the mogul.

The controversy is heightened by Ty Dolla’s close collaboration with Kanye West, who has been openly critical of Diddy. 

In a 2023 'Drink Champs' interview, West took aim at Diddy, stating, "As far as Meek Mill, Puff Daddy, whoever, none of these n**gas. All of you fake hard n**gas, f**k you!" West went further, accusing Diddy of being under federal protection, saying, "The reason why you gotta talk is because you did a deal, you f**king fed!"

Ty Dolla’s decision to back Diddy, despite West’s strong disapproval, has not been well-received by fans. As the 'VULTURES' rollouts continue, it remains to be seen how this bold statement will impact Ty Dolla’s public image. 

But one thing is certain: defending Diddy in 2024 is a risky move, especially in the court of public opinion.
