YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" Jason Watkins Jr.'s ambitious attempt to break the world record for the most backflips in 24 hours has come to an unexpected halt.

On October 7, 2024, the content creator announced his goal, aiming to surpass the current record held by Austrian personality Nico Scheicher.

However, earlier today, on October 9, with just five hours and 46 minutes remaining in the challenge, IShowSpeed informed his followers that he could no longer continue due to exhaustion.

He candidly stated, “But, I just came to a realization, I was mistaken while I was asleep. Like, I can't move anymore. There's nothing I can do about that. I just can't move anymore. Like, chat, even if I did, the max that I can do is maybe 40 (backflips more), then my legs get dead again.”

Despite the setback, IShowSpeed remained upbeat and self-reflective about the situation, saying, “I'm not giving up. I'm just being mature. This is reality. I f**ked up. I'm sorry, y'all. I'll be back. I'm really sorry. I talked out of my a**.”

He assured his community that he plans to return for another attempt at the world record within a "month or two." “I will be back to beat this world record. Just give me a month or two. Give me a month or two. I'm sorry, y'all. I'm sorry," he added.

During the livestream, which reached the seven-hour mark, IShowSpeed completed a total of 660 backflips out of the 1,008 needed to set a new record.

As he ended the stream, he attempted one final backflip but was unable to complete it.

In a show of support, controversial internet personality Andrew Tate praised IShowSpeed for his dedication, stating on X that the streamer was "finally doing something cool" and emphasizing the hard work required to break a world record. Tate urged his followers to rally behind IShowSpeed in his endeavors.
