Wanted robber killed in DG Khan encounter

Deceased was involved in looting buses, trucks on highway

In an operation by the Punjab Police in the Wahwa area of Dera Ghazi Khan, a robber was killed while attempting to loot passenger buses and trucks on the Indus Highway.

The incident occurred late last night when robbers targeted passenger buses and trucks on the Indus Highway.

Upon receiving the alert, the Wahwa police, along with elite teams and the Special Operations Unit, arrived at the scene and launched a search operation.

Police spotted three robbers on motorcycles fleeing toward the provincial border near the CRBC canal. The robbers engaged in a shootout with the police near Basti Nagriya, during which one robber was shot dead.

His accomplices managed to escape into the darkness.

The deceased robber was identified as Eid Gul, a resident of South Waziristan. Police are conducting raids to apprehend the remaining fugitives.

A 30-caliber pistol and stolen goods were recovered from the deceased robber, along with three motorcycles found at the scene.

DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Ali visited the site to assess the police operation, and local residents praised the timely action of the Dera Ghazi Khan police.

RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Sajad Hassan Khan also honored the officers who engaged with the robbers.

In a separate operation, the Civil Lines Police received a tip-off about five unidentified individuals planning a robbery in the Railway Colony area of Dhap Sari.

When the police party arrived at the scene, the suspects opened fire. The police returned fire, leading to the arrest of one suspect in a wounded condition.

The injured suspect was identified as Muhammad Nader, a resident of Bhata Colony, who is a wanted criminal in several serious cases, including theft and robbery.

Notably, Nader was involved in a recent incident where he shot a local resident, Haroon, in the neck during a robbery in Model Town just four days prior.

The police have transferred the injured suspect to a hospital and have begun conducting raids to apprehend the remaining suspects.
