Both released their debut singles around the same time—P Diddy in 1996 and Will Smith in 1997—and have been spotted at events, including a 2003 gathering with boxer Muhammad Ali.

In 2004, Smith attended one of P Diddy’s notorious Miami parties, known for their opulence and controversy. At this event, a buffet was reportedly served off the chest of a naked woman, with other celebrities like Diana Ross, Bruce Willis, and Owen Wilson in attendance, as reported by TMZ.

Following the 2022 Oscars, where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, P Diddy was quick to offer a public defense. While introducing a segment for The Godfather’s 50th anniversary, he lightheartedly stated, "Will and Chris, we’re going to solve that like family at the Gold Party... but right now, we are moving on with love," according to multiple reports.

A 2023 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! also resurfaced, where Diddy denied rumors involving Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jennifer Lopez. When asked about the rumor that Will and Jada had tried to initiate a threesome with Lopez, Diddy called the story “crazy” and stated, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
