12th Fail prequel announced with title 'Zero Se Shuruwat'

Revealed at IIFA 2024; Vidhu Vinod Chopra's creation starring Vikrant Massey is set to release on 13 December

News Desk October 01, 2024

According to Indian media filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra announced his upcoming film Zero Se Restart, a prequel to the critically acclaimed 12th Fail at IIFA 2024.

The film is set to release on 13 December and will feature the same cast, including Vikrant Massey, who portrayed the lead role in 12th Fail.

12th Fail, based on Anurag Pathak's book, tells the inspiring story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, a man who rose from poverty to become an IPS officer.

The prequel, Zero Se Restart, will delve deeper into this journey, continuing the narrative of resilience and determination.

While on the IIFA red carpet with his wife, Anupama Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra questioned whether he would submit 12th Fail for the Oscars. He candidly shared that he does not prioritize awards but focuses more on the quality of the film itself. "For me, the real award is when you make a film and can say, 'Ah, I nailed it,' or admit, 'That didn't quite work'," he said.

12th Fail was well-received for its portrayal of perseverance and triumph, not only showcasing Manoj Sharma's struggles but also the crucial role of his wife, Shraddha Joshi, in his success. With Medha Shankar playing the lead female role.
