When it comes to blending cultural significance with modern street style, few brands have made as much of an impact as Rastah. Since it was founded in 2018 by Zain, Adnan, and Ishmail Ahmad, the Pakistani label has evolved from crafting handwoven textiles to creating bold, artistic streetwear. Unsurprisingly, Rastah's distinctive pieces are attracting attention from global trendsetters, with its latest admirer being Irish actor Barry Keoghan.

In a recent Instagram post, Barry was spotted wearing a Rastah core collection hoodie. The black hoodie, featuring Rastah's signature screen-printed logo on the chest, was paired effortlessly with light-washed denim jeans and white trainers. The brand enthusiastically reposted the photo of the Saltburn star, captioning it, "Barry Keoghan in the Rastah core collection. So wild!"

Earlier this month, Indian rapper Badshah was seen in a striking jacket from Rastah's archival collection, designed by artist Nikita Jaisinghani. The jacket, intricately embroidered with cream-coloured beads forming floral and leaf patterns, struck the perfect balance between boldness and elegance. Badshah completed his look with futuristic sunglasses and diamond rings. He kept the focus on the intricately detailed jacket by styling it with black trousers, ensuring the jacket remained the centrepiece.

Of course, this isn't Rastah's first foray into international fame. Justin Bieber created a buzz when he wore a hand-embroidered pink button-up from the brand's Volume 10 collection, further elevating the label's reputation. Timothée Chalamet also made waves, sporting a brown Rastah sweatshirt while strolling the streets of Los Angeles, subtly showcasing the brand's refined street style.

In a recent interview, CEO Zain recalled the first time a big celebrity wore the brand. "In the beginning, it was down to luck. The first big celebrity to wear Rastah was French Montana. Pakistani audiences went crazy because a Western celebrity was wearing our clothes. Part of it has to do with the fact that we still seek external validation; we are still stuck in a post-colonial hangover," said the creative director.

What truly sets Rastah apart isn't just its growing roster of celebrity fans but its dedication to storytelling. The Volume 10 collection, which has garnered significant attention, goes beyond aesthetics—it's a profound commentary on the Subcontinent's intricate relationship with the British Raj. Rastah describes this collection as a project that took over six months to complete, and it also marks the brand's fifth anniversary, a milestone that celebrates its steady rise to international acclaim.
