'Won’t die till Modi is removed': Congress' Mallikarjun Kharge vows after falling ill at rally

After falling, 83-year-old leader vowed to keep fighting until Modi is defeated in elections and removed from power.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge fell ill while delivering a speech at an election rally in Kathua, Jammu, and Kashmir.

The 83-year-old leader, after taking a brief pause, resumed his speech and vowed to continue his political fight until Prime Minister Narendra Modi is defeated in elections and removed from power.

“I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive until PM Modi is removed from power,” Mallikarjun told the crowd after resuming his address.

The Congress chief also accused the Prime Minister of pushing the nation’s youth into “darkness,” blaming him for rising unemployment across the country.

Mallikarjun's son, Priyank Kharge, later confirmed on X that the Congress president is doing well, despite experiencing low blood pressure during the rally. He was checked by his medical team and is now stable.

Mallikarjun's resolve to continue his political battle remains strong, with his son adding, “His resolve, along with people’s good wishes, keeps him going strong.”

The Congress President’s recent remarks about Prime Minister Modi have sparked a political controversy, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticizing them as “disgraceful”.

Amit Shah, in a post on X, expressed strong disapproval of Mallikarjun's comment, stating, “Yesterday, the Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji has outperformed himself, his leaders, and his party in being absolutely distasteful and disgraceful in his speech."

Amit Shah added, "In a bitter display of spite, he unnecessarily dragged PM Modi into his personal health matters by saying that he would die only after removing PM Modi from power.”
