MIRANSHAH:

A helicopter chartered by Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) crashed in North Waziristan, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and serious injuries to ten others on Saturday.

According to official sources, the MI-8 helicopter was taking off near the oil field in Shewa Tehsil when it encountered a technical failure.

The helicopter attempted to make an emergency landing after a malfunction in the engine, but the tail rotor hit the ground, causing the crash.

The helicopter had 16 passengers onboard, including two foreign pilots. Initial reports indicate that six people have lost their lives, while ten have sustained critical injuries.

Sources further clarified that the crash occurred due to technical issues and that no signs of terrorism have been found in connection with the incident.
