Arshad Pappu murder: SHC seeks complainant, hears bail plea of Uzair Baloch’s brother
The Sindh High Court has ordered the police to continue the search for the complainant in the Arshad Pappu murder case, amid a bail request by Zubair Baloch, brother of Uzair Jan Baloch, the man accused of once running the most dangerous criminal gangs of the crime-infested area of Lyari.
Baloch, was arrested by Sindh Rangers in 2016 during an operation on the outskirts of Karachi.
The directive was issued during a hearing led by a two-member bench, chaired by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, Express News reported.
During the proceedings, the prosecution informed the court that they had issued a notice to the complainant, Arshad Pappu’s widow.
However, the notice was not delivered as she had changed her residence.
The police have been unable to locate her, which has delayed further progress in the case.
The defence counsel argued that a report had already been submitted to the trial court, noting that the complainant was missing and could not be found.
Despite this, the court ordered the investigating officer to persist in the search for Arshad Pappu's widow.
The hearing has been adjourned intil three weeks, during which time the police were instructed to continue efforts to locate the complainant.
The case revolves around the brutal murder of gang leader Arshad Pappu, for which Zubair Baloch and other accused are seeking bail.
Zubair Baloch, along with several other accused, including Uzair Baloch, former MNA Shahjahan Baloch, Zakir Dada, and Yousuf Baloch, have been charged in the 2013 murder of rival gang leader Arshad Pappu and his accomplices Yasir Arafat and Shera Pathan.
The case has seen several twists, including the murders of key figures, such as witness Chand Khan Niazi and accused Javed Baloch.
The FIR for the triple murder was registered at Kalakot police station in Lyari.
