QUETTA:

A bomb blast targeted a police vehicle in the Eastern Bypass area of Quetta on Wednesday morning, injuring at least 12 people. According to police reports, the explosive device was planted in a motorcycle parked on the roadside.

The injured were quickly transported to the Trauma Centre at Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and an investigation has been launched.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, condemned the attack, stating, "This cowardly act of terrorism is an attack on peace and security in our province. We will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice."

He further added that the safety of the people and law enforcement personnel is the government's top priority. "Such attacks will not deter our resolve to fight terrorism. The perpetrators of this heinous crime will be held accountable."

Authorities are working to identify those behind the attack, as the incident raises fresh concerns about security in Quetta, a city that has experienced frequent violence in recent years.

Just last month, a blast in Quetta's Liaquat Bazar area has left one person dead and six others injured. The explosion, which struck the bustling commercial hub, prompted a swift response from local authorities.

Emergency responders transported the victims to the Trauma Centre at Civil Hospital Quetta. The casualties were confirmed by Waseem Baig, the spokesman for the medical institution.

Security have sealed off the area and launched an investigation into the cause of the blast. The incident raised significant concern among residents, leading to heightened security measures across the city.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for this attack.
