ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted a supplementary charge-sheet in a case related to alleged misuse of authority by Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi in acquiring a jewelry set from the official gifts repository during the former's term as the prime minister.

The FIA submitted the document to Islamabad Central Judge Shahrukh Arjumand who was hearing the case in a courtroom inside Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail where both Imran and Bushra are currently detained.

During the hearing, the PTI founder and his wife, who were present in the courtroom, were provided with copies of the charge-sheet. The court will indict the couple at the next hearing on September 26.

Defence lawyer Salman Safdar presented arguments on the post-arrest bail requests. However, the arguments were not completed, and the hearing on the post-arrest bail applications was also adjourned.

In the supplementary charge-sheet, it is stated that there is solid evidence against the accused. The evidence indicates that the PTI founder and Bushra were found guilty of misconduct, gaining financial benefits through illegal means and corruption.
