FIA acknowledges hurdles in 'doctored video' case

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) informed the Lahore High Court (LHC) that arresting Falak Javed, the main suspect in a case involving the sharing of a 'fake video' of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari, is proving to be a more difficult task than anticipated.

During the hearing, presided over by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, Azma Bukhari's petition sought legal action against those responsible for spreading the video, which she claims has damaged her reputation.

When questioned about the progress of the investigation, the FIA's representative admitted that the task was more complex than it initially appeared.

This statement frustrated CJ Aalia Neelum, who criticised the FIA's usual method of calling suspects into their offices for questioning instead of actively pursuing them in the field.

Bokhari's lawyer argued that while the FIA claims it is unaware of Javed's whereabouts, she had recently been active on social media from Rawalpindi and was even sharing her location in tweets. "It is the FIA's responsibility to track her down," he stated.

The court inquired about the presence of the Director General of the FIA, to which it was revealed that the DG was in China.
