Man held for felling valuable trees

Trees worth Rs130,000 were cut and stolen.

Police have arrested a man accused of stealing wood by cutting trees worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. According to the FIR lodged by Khalid Hussain, a resident of Wah Cantt, valuable trees worth Rs130,000 were cut and stolen from his land in Sabz Pir, Hasan Abdal. The complaint names Akhtar Zaman and his son Farman alias Mara as the culprits.

Police registered a case and arrested Farman alias Mara, a resident of Ghazi, Haripur.

On the same day, the police arrested a man for assaulting and seriously injuring a farmer during a land dispute.

Muhammad Akhtar, a resident of Hasan Abdal, filed an FIR at Saddar police station, stating that Muhammad Sabir, along with his brother Shakeel and son Rahim Ali, were forcibly driving a tractor on his land. When Akhtar tried to stop them, Sabir and Shakeel attacked him with sticks, punches, and kicks, while Rahim Ali struck him with a pistol butt, inflicting serious injuries.

Akhtar's wife, who intervened, was also beaten by the suspects. Police have registered a case and arrested Muhammad Sabir, a resident of Hasan Abdal. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the police arrested five drug dealers and the suspects who were illegally possessing illegal weapons and recovered 2,060 grams of hashish, 10 litres of alcohol and two pistols of 30 bore with bullets.
