Kamala Harris' tweet thanking Diddy resurfaces after his arrest in sex trafficking case
Vice President Kamala Harris faced criticism after an old tweet from 2020 resurfaced, in which she thanked Sean "Diddy" Combs for hosting a town hall on racial inequality during her first presidential campaign. The tweet, which read, “Thank you, @Diddy, for hosting this town hall last night. There’s a lot at stake for our communities right now,” gained attention again following Diddy’s arrest on sex trafficking charges.
Combs, 54, was arrested on September 16, 2024, and is currently being held without bail on multiple counts, including sex trafficking and racketeering. The indictment against him accuses Combs of running “freak-off” parties involving coerced sexual acts with drugs and violence. Some social media users responded to Harris’ resurfaced tweet with remarks like “This didn’t age well” as the Vice President's past association with the hip-hop mogul came under scrutiny.
Diddy’s lawyer has denied the charges, calling the prosecution “unjust,” while federal authorities continue their investigation.
