Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed the strong bond between Pakistan and China during a ceremony commemorating the 75th National Day of the People's Republic of China on Saturday.

During the ceremony, Maryam met with Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren, extending warm wishes from the people of Punjab to the Chinese community. She emphasized the importance of fostering strong bilateral ties.
In his address, Consul General Zhao praised the Punjab government's public welfare initiatives, commending their efforts to serve citizens effectively.
The event was also attended by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan, both of whom echoed the importance of strengthening ties with China.
The ceremony underscored a commitment to enhancing cooperation and friendship between the two nations.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended heartfelt congratulations to the Chinese people and leadership on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
During a National Day reception in Islamabad, President Zardari reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with China for shared prosperity and global peace.
PM Shehbaz also marked the day as significant for both nations, recalling the warm welcome he received during his visit to China in June.
