ISLAMABAD:

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has criticised a group of 'hired journalists' for attempting to tarnish the judiciary, lamenting that it was the easiest thing to hurl abuses at him.

His comments were made during a Supreme Court hearing regarding the appointment of permanent vice-chancellors at public sector universities, particularly in the case involving Samina Malik, Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), on Friday.

During the proceedings, Samina Malik, the university's rector, was represented by her legal counsel.
