Zayed Khan opens up about Hrithik and sister Sussanne’s divorce, praises Saba Azad

The actor discusses his sister’s split from Hrithik Roshan, emphasising the importance of family support.

Actor Zayed Khan, brother of Sussanne Khan, recently opened up about the factors that led to her divorce from Hrithik Roshan and praised Hrithik's current partner, Saba Azad.

The actor attributed the couple's separation to ‘distractions’ and reflected on how their family has coped since the split.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan, childhood friends, tied the knot in 2000 but separated in 2014 after 14 years of marriage.

Despite their divorce, the former couple has maintained a close bond and continues to co-parent their two sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan.

During an interview published on YouTube, Zayed discussed the tough phase his sister faced during the divorce and acknowledged the criticism she endured.

He highlighted the importance of family support, stating that his family is like a "rock" during difficult times.

He emphasised that their modern family prioritises mutual respect and togetherness, especially for the sake of their children.

Reflecting on their lives in a busy city like Mumbai, Zayed said, "There are so many distractions. It’s a tough city to survive for a lot of marriages, let alone my own family.”

He noted that, despite the separation, both Hrithik and Sussanne have been able to maintain respectful relationships with each other and their new partners.

 

"We’re a very open-minded family. If two people don’t want to be together anymore, but they have other things in common, it’s important to support them," Zayed remarked.

Zayed also expressed admiration for Hrithik, describing him as a "gem of a guy with a heart of gold."

He spoke warmly about Hrithik’s girlfriend, Saba Azad, calling her a "wonderful lady" and praised Sussanne’s partner, Arsalan Goni, as a "good guy."

The actor, who shares a strong bond with his sister, described her as "the Philippe Starck of India" and lauded her as a talented and strong individual.

He highlighted their close relationship, saying they have always been there for each other, even through challenging times.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan’s marriage ended in 2014, but they continue to co-parent their children and maintain cordial ties with one another.

Last year, after several rumours sparked regarding Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad’s relationship, the duo finally made their first public appearance as a couple at Karan Johar’s 50th birthday bash.

Surrounded by several other big stars, there could have been no better place than KJo’s birthday to make this much awaited announcement as the couple became the centre of attention while posing on the red carpet.

With their eyes locked, Saba stunned in a black, satin dress and Hrithik charmed netizens in his classic black suit.

As per NDTV, the two had initially interacted on Twitter when Hrithik shared a post starring his current sweetheart in a video with a rapper, who then responded with a message of gratitude.

The two began talking soon after and it was not long before the sparks emerged.
The couple’s relationship prospects had been under constant speculation from Indian tabloids due to various instances of affection on social media and being spotted together on several occasions.

Saba, a singer who is also known for her 2011 film, Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, has been spotted at her gig with Hrithik’s ex-wife, Sussane Khan and has spent time with his family as well.
