Deepika Padukone buys $2.1 million apartment in Mumbai after welcoming first child
Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has purchased a luxury apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, shortly after the birth of her first child with actor Ranveer Singh.
The couple welcomed a baby girl on 8th September 2024, and Deepika has now invested in a property worth $2.1 million in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after areas.
The apartment, located on the 15th floor of the Sagar Resham Co-operative Housing Society, offers panoramic sea views and is next to Ranveer Singh’s mother, Anju Bhavnani’s, residence.
According to property documents, Deepika’s firm KA Enterprises LLP, co-owned with her father Prakash Padukone, finalised the deal after paying a stamp duty of $127,000 and a registration fee of $355.
In a related move, Ranveer Singh’s mother, Anju Bhavnani, also acquired an adjacent apartment worth $2.3 million earlier this month.
Additionally, Ranveer Singh’s company has leased another property near his mother’s home for $9,750 per month.
Celebrities like Aamir Khan, Tripti Dimri, and K.L. Rahul are also residents in the area, making it a hotspot for Bollywood stars.
Deepika and Ranveer, who married in 2018 in an intimate ceremony in Italy, had announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first child in September.
The couple is now enjoying their time as new parents while expanding their property portfolio.
Earlier this month, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on 8th September.
The couple announced with a heartwarming Instagram post, simply captioned, “Welcome baby girl.”
According to reports, the new parents have opted for a traditional parenting approach.
Rather than hiring a nanny, Deepika and Ranveer are said to prefer caring for their newborn themselves.
This decision mirrors that of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who similarly chose to not hire a nanny for her child.
Sources further suggest that the couple may follow in the footsteps of other celebrity parents like Alia Bhatt and Virat Kohli, choosing to shield their daughter from the media by not revealing her face publicly and possibly implementing a ‘no paparazzi’ policy.
Deepika, who has been balancing a busy career, is set to take a break from her professional commitments.
She will reportedly remain on maternity leave until March 2025, after which she plans to return to the screen with the highly anticipated sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Prabhas.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is preparing for several upcoming projects, including Singham Again and Don 3, where he will be seen alongside Kiara Advani.
As they embark on their new journey into parenthood, the couple has been receiving visits from close friends and family, including Shah Rukh Khan and the Ambani family.
Fans are eager to catch a glimpse of the couple’s baby girl, but it remains to be seen when or if they will introduce her to the public.
