Nassau County Police have denied reports suggesting explosives were found near the site of former President Donald Trump’s rally on Long Island.

A police spokesperson said Wednesday that there was “no validity” to the claims, which circulated on social media just hours before Trump’s event at Nassau Coliseum.

Earlier, unconfirmed reports falsely claimed that an explosive device had been discovered in a vehicle during routine security checks at the rally site. Law enforcement officials dismissed these reports, stating, “Reports of explosives being found at the site are unfounded.”

Despite speculation, the police clarified that the individual being questioned near the rally was involved in a bomb detection dog training exercise. “There is a person who is being questioned who may have been training a bomb detection dog near the site,” the spokesperson explained.

The false reports followed a recent security breach at Trump’s Palm Beach golf club, where a suspect was arrested. Police reassured the public that the rally proceeded without any security threats.
