An altercation between the medical superintendent (MS) and young doctors at District Headquarters Hospital Timergara has resulted in injuries to two doctors and a hospital staff member.
The altercation occurred in the MS's office during negotiations over the ongoing strike by young doctors demanding their rights.
The dispute turned physical, causing injuries and damage to the office. Police were called to the scene to control the situation. Later, relatives of the injured hospital staff member allegedly attacked a young doctor at his clinic, leaving him seriously injured, further worsening the situation.
MS Dr Ali Asghar claimed that some young doctors posed a threat to his life and requested police protection. The police moved him to a secure location. Both parties are reportedly seeking to file FIRs against each other, while local political leaders are attempting to mediate and resolve the conflict.
Meanwhile, the Paramedics Association of District Headquarters Hospital Timergara has rejected the decision to merge the Allied Health Professionals Council with the Nursing Council.
