Yasir Ali's bail denied in Khalil-ur-Rehman honey trap case as court cites sufficient evidence in the investigation

A written verdict has been issued rejecting the bail request of Yasir Ali, the accused in the alleged kidnapping case involving Pakistani drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.

According to details, Judge Arshad Javed of the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court issued a two-page written verdict.

The court's decision stated that during the investigation, it was revealed that Yasir Ali had demanded money from Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.

The written verdict further mentioned that Yasir Ali's phone calls and mobile CDR matched with the victim's, and the accused was identified during the identification parade.

Additionally, the decision stated that evidence from the case was recovered from the accused, and there is sufficient criminal material against Yasir Ali, leading to the rejection of his bail.

The plaintiff’s arguments were presented by advocates Mudassir Chaudhry and Zain Qureshi.

On July 15, 2024, Khalilur Rehman Qamar was allegedly abducted and robbed in Lahore. He reported the incident to the police on July 21, after being released following a ransom payment.

The incident reportedly began when Qamar was invited to Amna Arooj's home to discuss a drama project.

However, Qamar's lawyer claims that armed men abducted him.

On the other hand, Amna's lawyer has a different account, alleging that Qamar's manager initially contacted Amna for professional reasons, but the situation escalated when Qamar allegedly made inappropriate demands.

According to Amna's lawyer, Qamar arrived intoxicated at their second meeting and pressured Amna for a physical relationship, threatening to leak photos if she refused.

Hasan Shah, identified as the alleged mastermind, then arrived and reportedly kidnapped both Amna and Qamar.

Amna later accused the police of torturing her into falsely labeling the incident as a honey trap, further complicating the case.

This incident has sparked widespread media attention, with both sides presenting conflicting narratives.
