Alhamra centre resonates with 'Yaad-e-Salamat'

The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra), in collaboration with the Sham Chaurasi Music Circle, hosted a captivating two-day event, "Yaad-e-Salamat," honouring classical maestro Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.

The event featured mesmerising performances by renowned classical musicians, including Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan, Nadir Ali Khan, Faizan Ali Khan, Chand and Suraj Khan, Shujaat Ali Khan and Ustad Rafiq Ali Khan, among others.

A large gathering of classical music enthusiasts enjoyed enthralling renditions of Raags such as Basant, Bhupali, Asavari, Darbari, Kafi, and Thumri.

According to a statement, the event paid homage to Ustad Salamat's enduring legacy while fostering interest in classical music among the younger generation.
