Avid runner and popular TikToker Caleb Graves, 35, tragically passed away on Sunday, September 8, shortly after completing the Disneyland Half Marathon. Graves, known as "Caleb" on social media, collapsed near the finish line amidst a record-breaking heat wave in Southern California.
Anaheim Police confirmed that Graves received immediate medical attention after clutching his chest and going into cardiac arrest. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Just a day before the race, Graves expressed concerns about the extreme heat in a TikTok video. He recounted a previous incident of heat exhaustion and hoped he would make it through the race safely.

The Disneyland Half Marathon, held early in the morning to avoid the peak heat, reportedly had no other major medical incidents. The Orange County Coroner's Office is currently investigating the cause of Graves' death.
Graves was a Georgetown University law graduate and worked as a litigation associate at a prominent law firm. His TikTok account, where he shared his passion for running and Disney, had garnered over 18,000 followers.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of exercising in extreme heat, even for experienced athletes. It serves as a reminder to stay hydrated, listen to your body, and take precautions when participating in outdoor activities during hot weather.
