Chappell Roan, who has seen a surge in popularity this past year, has recently shared details about disturbing incidents involving stalkers and harassment.

Roan, whose fanbase now includes prominent figures such as Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus, has been vocal about the need to set boundaries in the face of invasive behaviour from fans.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Roan expressed frustration over the need for increased security. “Now I have to have security,” she said.

“It’s so lame.” This development follows an unsettling experience where a stalker appeared at her parents' home and even followed her to a hotel room in New York.

Roan also described several troubling encounters, including being kissed without consent and having her father’s phone number leaked.

She recounted a distressing episode at an airport, stating, “I got home and dropped to my knees. I have a hard time crying now because of my meds, but I sobbed and was screaming.”

Despite these challenges, Roan has received support from various pop stars, including Charli XCX, Hayley Williams, and Troye Sivan. Her debut album, "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess," continues to perform well on the Billboard 200, reaching No. 2 in August.

Roan also touched on her recent decision to decline an invitation to perform at a Pride event at the White House, citing discomfort with being used as a “monkey for Pride.” She expressed relief at her decision following recent controversial statements made about trans youth.

Looking ahead, Roan is working on a new album with Grammy-winning producer Dan Nigro. They have completed several tracks, including a country song, a dance track, and an Eighties-inspired tune, with plans to continue development.
