Grace VanderWaal stuns in backless corset look at TIFF 2024 Megalopolis premiere
Grace VanderWaal, America's Got Talent alum, made a bold statement at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, attending the Megalopolis premiere on Sept. 10. VanderWaal, 20, wore a daring outfit consisting of a custom backless pink corset paired with a plunging black skirt, turning heads on the red carpet.
The corset, designed by independent artist Liam MacKenzie, featured rose-like embellishments, ribbon ties, and a feathery collar, while the black Cinema By Panos Zinas skirt added a dramatic flair. Styled by Elza Khalife, the outfit came together with vintage finds sourced from Brooklyn's Desert Stars Vintage store. VanderWaal expressed her gratitude on Instagram, writing, "Liam, you’re an artist through and through, thank you for making me feel so special."
VanderWaal, who won America's Got Talent in 2016 at the age of 12, has since carved out a career in both music and acting. She recently appeared in Megalopolis, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, where she plays a pop star alongside Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, and Giancarlo Esposito. Coppola shared that his connection to VanderWaal dates back years through her father, David VanderWaal, who had helped him during research for a film.
In addition to acting, VanderWaal has embraced the New York lifestyle, recently appearing in a viral TikTok video where she shared her secret to confidence while navigating the city's streets. Reflecting on her experience growing up in the public eye, VanderWaal said, "It threw me into scrutiny and forced me to sink or swim."
