Unsubstantiated claims have recently emerged suggesting illegal Haitian migrants are eating pets and wild birds in Springfield, Ohio. 

These rumors have drawn attention from Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, and the Republican nominee’s campaign, though no evidence supports the accusations.

These claims surfaced shortly after a 27-year-old Ohio woman, Allexis Telia Ferrell, was arrested for allegedly killing a cat and eating it in front of her neighbors. According to Fox News, Ferrell is charged with injuring animals, violating companion animal prohibitions, and disorderly conduct.

Despite lacking evidence, right-wing social media users have attempted to link Ferrell to Haiti. Consequently, MAGA memers have flooded X (formerly Twitter) with AI-generated memes depicting Donald Trump holding cats and ducks.
