On Monday, September 9, Shaboozey celebrated his first CMA Awards nominations, earning nods for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for his hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)."

The song continues its impressive run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. However, Shaboozey also took a moment to acknowledge Beyoncé, who did not receive any CMA nominations for her album Cowboy Carter.

On Instagram, Shaboozey highlighted Beyoncé’s influence by featuring her single "Texas Hold ‘Em" from Cowboy Carter in his announcement. He expressed his gratitude with a post saying, “That goes without saying. Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door for us, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time!” He reiterated his appreciation on X.

Before his solo success, Shaboozey featured on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tracks "Spaghettii," which includes country legend Linda Martell, and "Sweet * Honey * Buckiin’." Notably, Shaboozey and Beyoncé made history in April when "A Bar Song" replaced "Texas Hold ‘Em" at the top of the Hot Country Songs chart, marking a historic achievement for Black artists.

Shaboozey also shared his gratitude for his nominations on X, reflecting on his 2016 song about winning a CMA and stating, “Thank you @CountryMusic and congrats to the other nominees. What an honor would be an understatement. #CMAawards.”

Morgan Wallen leads the 2024 CMA Awards with seven nominations, followed by Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five each. The awards ceremony will be held on November 20, broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC and available on Hulu the next day.
