Inclusive education urged

National Disability and Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan observed International Literacy Day on Sunday, emphasising the need for inclusive education.

Children with disabilities are still largely excluded from mainstream education, hindering equitable literacy.

NDF President Abid Lashari praised the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) for promoting inclusive education, but stressed that more needs to be done.

Lashari called for a collaborative initiative between the Education and Literacy Department and DEPD to ensure children with disabilities can learn in an inclusive environment.
