Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 131st goal for Portugal and the 900th of his remarkable career, converting Nuno Mendes’ precise cross at Estadio da Luz on Thursday night, during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.

Al-Nassr forward displayed visible emotion after scoring, though a Diogo Dalot's own-goal in the seventh-minute reduced Croatia’s deficit just before half-time.

Ronaldo added his 901st goal with the composure and skill that have defined his career. Following another assist from Mendes in Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Croatia, Ronaldo was celebrated for his continued brilliance. Portugal won 2-1, but the real triumph belonged to Ronaldo, who continues to solidify his legendary status.

After the Nations League clash with Croatia, Portugal will face Scotland on Sunday. It remains uncertain whether national coach Roberto Martinez will rest Ronaldo or start him in the next match.

Despite nearing 40, Ronaldo remains one of the greatest footballers of all time, having won every major trophy except the World Cup. He has played for prestigious clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, and others. Since joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in early 2023, the former Sporting Lisbon player has scored 68 goals in 74 matches across all competitions.

Real Madrid, honouring one of their most iconic players, congratulated Ronaldo on reaching 901 career goals. In a heartfelt message, the club expressed their admiration, acknowledging him as "one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football," with fans forever proud of his achievements. During his time at Real Madrid, Ronaldo scored 451 goals and remains a cherished figure. His legend continues to grow, and every goal serves as a testament to his dedication, sacrifice, and talent.
