NVIDIA's Jensen Huang to receive lifetime achievement award at 2024 Engineering Emmys

Huang, recognized for his work in AI, will be honored alongside Adobe and other tech innovators.

Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, will be awarded the prestigious Charles F. Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award at the 76th Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Awards. 

Huang's contributions, particularly in accelerated computing and generative AI, have revolutionized the tech landscape, earning him recognition for his leadership and innovation. 

The ceremony will take place on October 23 at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center.

Among other honorees, Adobe will receive the Philo T. Farnsworth Corporate Achievement Award and an Engineering Emmy for their 3D texture painting tool, Substance Painter.

Several innovators will also be recognized for their contributions to advancing television production technology. 

These include Tom Ohanian, Ken Goekjian, Joel Swan, and Victor Young for developing the Avid Multicamera System; Paul Pan, Yanchong Zhao, Tie Su, and Shimeng Bei for their work on DJI Ronin camera stabilization systems; and Stuart Geman, Kevin Manbeck, John Mertus, and Michael Braca for MTI Film’s DRS Nova restoration software.

Additional honorees include Benjamin Graf for Accentize’s dxRevive Pro speech-restoration plugin, and Jeremy Hochman, Chris Byrne, Colin Cook, and Justin Nicolaides for the HELIOS processing platform for LED walls.

Craig Seidel will also be recognized for the MovieLabs Digital Distribution Framework, and The Tiffen Company for developing the Steadicam Volt camera stabilization technology.

"This year we honor a diverse group of technologies that enable and advance the storytelling process for television production," said Barry Zegel and Wendy Aylsworth, co-chairs of the Emmy committee. 

The awards highlight innovations in AI, camera stabilization, editing software, and production tools, showcasing the significant advancements shaping the future of television production.
